My name is Avas. I have been a qualified tyre fitter for nearly 10 years. I started my journey at a local garage to get some training and build on my knowledge to become a tyre fitter.
I gained the appropriate qualifications to become a qualified tyre fitter, which is a requirement in the UK. This is known as a Diploma in Vehicle Fitting Principles Level 2 as well as Level 2 in Specialist Tyre Fitting Competence, and the Level 2 Extended Certificate in Vehicle Technology. Once qualified, I then worked for MeritTyres, which was a specialist tyre specialist with a national network of branches and mobile tyre fitters. I worked a number of roles there including
- Qualified Tyre Fitter
- Senior Tyre Fitter
- Garage Workshop Supervisor
- Branch Manager
Within two years of working at MeritTyres, I was offered a manager role. I helped run the branch and managed a team of five tyre fitters, keeping customer satisfaction and making sure everything was done professionally.
I was highly motivated and passionate about what I do, and I then decided I wanted to become a mobile tyre fitter, and I wanted to help people that are stranded across the town due to issues with their tyres getting punctured and going flat.
I started a small business in 2022 called 24/7 Tyre Assist and have enjoyed working and helping people, I have had a lot of different experiences which have made me feel more motivated and happier with the work I offer and throughout these year I have gained so much more confidence and knowledge in what I do and look forward to what the future brings.
